Code of Conduct Print E-mail

Emergency Planning Solutions (EPS) is committed to working in partnership with, and providing a professional service to all clients.  We are concerned with the maintenance of good practice and are committed to a Code of Professional Conduct, which defines our professionalism and working standards.

EPS continually seeks to improve performance and update and refresh our skills and knowledge.  We strive to identify and promote excellence, whilst maintaining the highest standards of integrity and competence.

Meeting Clients’ Requirements

EPS will use our professional judgement and expertise to clarify clients’ specific requirements, identify concerns and evaluate the effectiveness of various solutions.

Written proposals to clients will specify the following:

  • Project plan
  • Details of client consultation and information to be provided by the client
  • Names and details of project team
  • Fees, expenses and dates payable
  • Overall Project Timetable.

EPS will formally agree with the client the scope, nature and delivery of services to be provided, and the basis of remuneration.  Subsequent revisions will be subject to prior discussion and agreement with the client.

EPS regards clients’ requirements and interests as paramount at all times and treats all information relating to client affairs in the strictest confidence.  We will use due diligence and exercise high standards of timeliness, appropriateness and accuracy in the information and advice provided to clients.  In the case of associates being used, such associates will only be contracted with the prior agreement of the client, and following vetting by EPS.

EPS will ensure that the client is kept fully informed about progress of the project, and will encourage and take note of any feedback from clients on the performance of services provided (by EPS).  Findings will be communicated clearly to the client in the form of discussions, presentations and written reports.

EPS will ensure that advice, solutions and recommendations are based on thorough, impartial consideration and analysis of all available facts and relevant experience, and are realistic, practicable and clearly understood by the client.

EPS recognise the limitations of our own knowledge and ability, and will therefore not undertake any work for which we are not appropriately qualified, and if the client cannot be served effectively.

Integrity, independence and objectivity

When offering advice and recommendations, EPS will be guided solely by their objective view of the client’s best interests.  We will disclose at the earliest opportunity any special relationships, circumstances or business interests which might influence or impair, or which could be seen by the client or others to influence or impair, Emergency Planning Solution’s judgement or objectivity on a particular project.

EPS will exercise independence of thought and action, deal with issues in perspective and give well-balanced advice; we will act courteously and with consideration towards all individuals contacted in the course of undertaking projects.

Employees

EPS seeks to achieve the fullest possible development of people for present and future organisational needs, and encourage self-development by individuals.  We also promote and maintain fair and reasonable standards in the treatment of people, as well as promoting and exercising employment practices that remove unfair discrimination, including, but not limited to, gender, age, race, religion, disability and background.

EPS demonstrates a commitment to company staff by giving fair consideration of the following working practices within the context of meeting business needs:

  • Extended leave
  • Religious holidays
  • Reasonable adjustments as required by Disability Discrimination Act
  • Flexible working hours and working patterns
  • Possibility of working from home
  • Annualised hours

Staff performance and improvement will be assessed by means of appraisal and appropriate training support.  Our appraisal process will help staff understand the role they play in our organisation, encourage good manager/employee communication and identify appropriate personal development opportunities linked to meeting the needs of the company and current projects.
